Mehrad Hamidian is a Senior Lecturer in Microbiology at the Australian Institute for Microbiology and Infection at UTS. His research focuses on studying antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in Gram-negative bacteria in particular Acinetobacter baumannii, a bacterium that causes a range of hospital-acquired infections. His general interests include examining genomic diversity, clonality, and epidemiology in order to better understand how AMR spreads and evolves at local and global levels..
