Kirsten Bailey is a Research Fellow in Antimicrobial Stewardship at The University of Melbourne and the National Centre for Antimicrobial Stewardship. A veterinarian with a PhD in microbiology, she brings a One Health perspective to multi-institutional and interdisciplinary research addressing antimicrobial resistance across human and animal health.

Her research examines the drivers of prescribing, patterns of resistance, and the development of tools to measure antimicrobial use in clinical practice. She translates research into clinically relevant resources in collaboration with government and industry stakeholders, and implemented the largest veterinary antimicrobial stewardship trial globally, achieving a 50% reduction in antimicrobial use across 135 clinics.
