Dr Jake M. Robinson

Dr Jake M. Robinson is a microbial ecologist who explores the links between biodiversity and human health. He also develops innovative strategies to conserve and restore nature, including pioneering work in aerobiology and soil ecoacoustics. Jake is a senior researcher in Restoration Genomics at the Frontiers of Restoration Ecology lab and an Editor for Restoration Ecology. He co-founded the Grounded Minds Consortium, ‘Soil Yourself September’, and the Aerobiome Innovation and Research Hub (www.aerobiome.org). He is also a core member of the UNFCCC Resilience Frontiers think tank, focusing on biodiversity-health linkages and imagination infrastructures for global flourishing. He is the Australian lead for the International Microbiology Literacy Initiative (IMiLI).

Jake is passionate about making complex science accessible to everyone. He is the author of Invisible Friends (2023), TREEWILDING (2024), and The Nature of Pandemics (2025).
