Dr Charlotte Chong

The University of Cambridge, UK

Charlotte is a post-doctoral research associate in the Pathogen Dynamics Unit at the University of Cambridge. She completed her PhD at the University of Liverpool, where her BBSRC- and Unilever-funded research focused on metagenomics and population genomics of the human scalp microbiome. In 2021, she joined Prof. Kate Baker’s research group, where her work applies genomics and bioinformatics approaches to investigate the epidemiological and microbiological drivers of shigellosis in LMICs, bacterial immune systems in Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and how these insights can be leveraged to address major public health challenges such as antimicrobial resistance.
